App Design & Development
2018
Fluid is an interactive experience which has been designed to help with sensory overload for young adults on the Autistic spectrum. The app works in two ways. Free play mode allows the user to feel comfortable with the graphics and gain confidence with how the app works. Secondly, Fluid can help to improve eye contact. The visuals and sounds in Fluid help the user to stay in the moment meaning that if the mind wanders elsewhere and the user glances away, the effects will pause and encourage the user to regain focus. Only starting again when they are looking at the screen. Being able to communicate effectively is the most important life skill. Eye contact is the first step to communication and is something that people on the Autistic spectrum struggle with. By continuing to use Fluid over time, users will be able to improve stress release and quickly regain focus.
